Предположительно, офицер покончил с собой в служебном кабинете, в здании Главного управления по борьбе с экономической преступностью и коррупцией МВД в Рязанском переулке.
По данным СМИ, Евгений Головатов был заместителем начальника управления «П», которое борется с преступностью на крупных промышленных предприятиях.
