We are back with another note on Kostamus authored together with Mikhail Arkhipov. As Mikhail is continuing his forays into what is a true modernist gem of this Karelian town, the Druzhba Cultural Center, to officially photograph its interiors and is badgering the authorities with requests for information, let us wish him good luck in his struggles and take a look at the outpatient medical center and Kostamus's first shopping mall in the meantime.

The outpatient medical center was opened on June 14th, 1984 and was intended to manage a caseload of 600 patients per shift. Medical equipment was provided by Medicor, Hungary, while all of the furnishings were supplied by Finland as part of the contract with the USSR making the center a gesamtuknstwerk of the 1980s. Its orange furniture, which has survived over 40 years in use, is something that sets this medical center apart from similar institutions elsewhere. By the way, the entrance also remains almost intact, but for its sides, which, sadly, have been covered with vinyl siding.

On Feb. 27, however, he admitted from his Russian-language account that "Telegram channels are increasingly becoming a source of unverified information related to Ukrainian events." This ability to mix the public and the private, as well as the ability to use bots to engage with users has proved to be problematic. In early 2021, a database selling phone numbers pulled from Facebook was selling numbers for $20 per lookup. Similarly, security researchers found a network of deepfake bots on the platform that were generating images of people submitted by users to create non-consensual imagery, some of which involved children. WhatsApp, a rival messaging platform, introduced some measures to counter disinformation when Covid-19 was first sweeping the world. Founder Pavel Durov says tech is meant to set you free The War on Fakes channel has repeatedly attempted to push conspiracies that footage from Ukraine is somehow being falsified. One post on the channel from February 24 claimed without evidence that a widely viewed photo of a Ukrainian woman injured in an airstrike in the city of Chuhuiv was doctored and that the woman was seen in a different photo days later without injuries. The post, which has over 600,000 views, also baselessly claimed that the woman's blood was actually makeup or grape juice.
