Interested investors will be asked to directly message the representatives to begin investing in the various investment packages offered. The perpetrators use various names to carry out the investment scams. They may also impersonate or clone licensed capital market intermediaries by using the names, logos, credentials, websites and other details of the legitimate entities to promote the illegal schemes. "He has kind of an old-school cyber-libertarian world view where technology is there to set you free," Maréchal said. The original Telegram channel has expanded into a web of accounts for different locations, including specific pages made for individual Russian cities. There's also an English-language website, which states it is owned by the people who run the Telegram channels.
