Военно-морское командование альянса заявило, что первых два корабля ВМС ФРГ и Нидерландов прибыли в район проведения миссии Baltic Sentry.
В частности, Нидерланды отправили гидрографический корабль А 803 «Luymes», а Германия — тральщик М 1068 «Datteln». Эти корабли входят в состав первой постоянной группы противоминной защиты НАТО. В ближайшее время к ним присоединятся корабли второй постоянной корабельной группы НАТО.
В данный момент оба корабля находятся в Финском заливе южнее Ханко.
Напомним, что целью миссии Baltic Sentry является защита подводной инфраструктуры Балтийского моря. В операции также планируется задействовать фрегаты и морские патрульные самолеты стран НАТО.
