Успешные предприниматели и меценаты, основатели универмага Samaritaine с 1900 по 1927 гг. собрали прекрасную коллекцию картин, фарфора, мебели в стиле рококо и предметов быта французской аристократии XVIII в. Позже коллекция была завещана Парижу.

Музей очень тихий и камерный в самом сердце квартала Марэ в особняке Донон XVI в. Бонус: бесплатный вход.
