Исследователи выявили 12 видов полимеров. Самыми распространёнными оказались: ▪️ ПЭТ — 31% всех частиц. Используется преимущественно для производства упаковки и в текстильной промышленности. ▪️ Полиамид, полиэтилен и поликарбонат — около 12% каждый. ▪️ Полипропилен — 9,5% и другие.
Микропластик попадает в атмосферу и переносится на большие расстояния, оседая даже в отдалённых регионах. Его влияние на здоровье человека ещё исследуется, однако находят его всё чаще в самых неожиданных местах.
