Глава столицы Урала Алексей Орлов встретился с жителями Академического района. Темой для обсуждения стала судьба берёзовой рощи, где собираются построить жилой комплекс. Беседа прошла на повышенных тонах, больше всех эмоционировал лидер протестующих справедливоросс Каракоз. Людям ещё раз объяснили, что участок находится в частной собственности и там не растёт большого количества краснокнижных растений.
По итогам встречи Алексей Орлов заявил о намерении провести опрос среди жителей Академического района по застройке рощи и благоустройства парка. Подобное уже было в Екатеринбурге в 2019 году, тогда пришлось проводить референдум из-за строительства храма.
Напомним, 18 февраля роща стала поводом для "народного" схода. Несколько десятков жителей близлежащих многоэтажек вышли на улицу, чтобы помешать застройщику вырубать деревья.
