Председатель избиркома Алексей Подушкин обосновал список трат: традиционные организационные расходы, оплата труда членов комиссий, полеты сотрудников по краю и так далее. Также, если выборы пройдут в один тур, то расходы сократятся на 40%, а остальные средства будут возвращены в бюджет края.
На прошлые выборы 2018 года было потрачено чуть менее 400 миллионов рублей. Тогда губернатором края был избран Александр Усс.
