Okay, kids, we need to talk about serious shit right here and it's gonna be addressed towards different groups of people. Buckle up, cause there's a ton of text.
To cis allies who have trans friends: ngl, you could give a shit more. Some of you are cool and proactive and lovely, but most of y'all could've, as I've said, give a shit more. Transphobia is on the rise and making sure you can help your trans friends feel safer should be one of your priorities in coming years.
To trans peeps: Stick together and stay strong and brave. Stay cool, stay edgy, stay fun and keep putting up that front even if you're not feeling like any of those things. Try your best not to get overwhelmed.
Good news for you, they can't eradicate us. It's not 1920's, 1940's or 70's through 90's anymore. It's 2025. They can try to scare us, but not remove us. So, stick together, help each other, breathe and keep doing what you were doing.
To everyone who cares about fighting for trans issues in any capacity: Okay, now here's just my opinion, but hear me out.
Stop fighting the transphobes and start fighting transphobia itself. What do I mean by that? Well, let me explain.
Let's start with transphobes.
For the sake of making it short, let's say that there are two types of transphobes and call them "ideological transphobes" and "echo-transphobes".
Ideological transphobes can't and shouldn't be reasoned with. The only productive set of actions is to either ignore, punch or humiliate them (I personally push for the ignore, but you don't always have a choice here).
Echo-transphobes can be reasoned with on an interpersonal level. It's usually people whom you can meet irl at parties, who just parrot whatever bullshit they've heard online, but don't actually have an opinion. Those can be reasoned with. And you usually can tell, cause they're quite passive and open to be rhetorically explained why the shit they're saying is stupid.
Now, onto how do you fight transphobia itself.
Make transphobia cringe and dismantle the psyops.
Don't waste your time on "WHY it's okay for transwomen to go into women's bathrooms". Instead ask "why do you care?"
"well, what if I get r*ped by you transwomen?"
"why aren't you afraid of other women r*ping you then? How is it different?"
And usually after that, they say some explicit transphobic shit and you just go back to your page and be like
"see kids? This why you don't go online embarrassing yourself in front of a bunch of people."
Transphobia appeals to emotional response of fear, by using buzz words with negative connotations.
Stay cool, explain to normies why this is cringe and stupid,(maybe make a soyjack meme of the author, idk) and keep doing that with the same kind of coolness, that the rightoids been pushing for themselves.
You can hate me, you can disagree, but they were winning normies for the longest time with stupid memes and overall simple coolness for years, while we tried to figure out what's "the most perfect kind of leftie" and presenting every normal person that tried to get into a left ideology with miles upon miles of political literature that even most lefties didn't read.
Appeal to intelligence works, if you make them feel like they're already smart or even smarter than the person who made a shitty take.
Appeal to emotion works, if your emotion is easy to convey in a personal manner.
And lastly, appeal to coolness.
