Свою работу он начнёт вместе с мусоросортировочным комплексом в 2025 году. Это позволит обеспечить правильный цикл движения отходов: обработку, извлечение вторичных ресурсов, захоронение непригодных к обработке отходов. На полигон будут поступать все отходы Махачкалинской зоны после обработки.
Это первый из шести объектов, строительство которых окончено. Ещё 5 объектов строится – это 3 мусоросортировочных комплекса и 2 полигона.
