книга Белла Man of Mathematics (самая интересная книга по истории математики на английском) читается взахлёб. Биографии математиков с органично вплетающимися байками, однако не всегда правдивыми, как признаётся автор:
"It should be noted that the modern higher criticism which has been so effective in discrediting all the interesting anecdotes in the history of mathematics has shown that the astronomical problem was in no way responsible for the loss of Euler’s eye. But how the scholarly critics (or anyone else) come to know so much about the so-called law of cause and effect is a mystery for David Hume’s (a contemporary of Euler) ghost to resolve."
Про Эйлера как минимум половина баек переврана (если не больше). Тем не менее, всячески рекомендую как изящное и вдохновляющее чтение на английском на ночь.
Как минимум Нэш, Робинсон и Дайсон вдохновились книгой настолько, что стали математиками.

Some people used the platform to organize ahead of the storming of the U.S. Capitol in January 2021, and last month Senator Mark Warner sent a letter to Durov urging him to curb Russian information operations on Telegram. These entities are reportedly operating nine Telegram channels with more than five million subscribers to whom they were making recommendations on selected listed scrips. Such recommendations induced the investors to deal in the said scrips, thereby creating artificial volume and price rise. On December 23rd, 2020, Pavel Durov posted to his channel that the company would need to start generating revenue. In early 2021, he added that any advertising on the platform would not use user data for targeting, and that it would be focused on “large one-to-many channels.” He pledged that ads would be “non-intrusive” and that most users would simply not notice any change. He said that since his platform does not have the capacity to check all channels, it may restrict some in Russia and Ukraine "for the duration of the conflict," but then reversed course hours later after many users complained that Telegram was an important source of information. As the war in Ukraine rages, the messaging app Telegram has emerged as the go-to place for unfiltered live war updates for both Ukrainian refugees and increasingly isolated Russians alike.
