Крещение водой, огнём, Донецком.
Течёт река прямёхонько из детства —
пологий берег, пиксельная рябь.
Мальчишки, словно на дворе макушка лета,
вбегают в воду без бронежилетов.
Почти такими, как их породила мать.

Такими, как Отец их всех задумал, —
арахис в сладкой мякоти лукума —
вбегают в воду, фыркают незло.
Я наблюдаю из окна за ними...
Я так хочу, чтоб из войны сухими,
как из воды, им выйти повезло.

Хохочут, растирают споро спины
из человеческой огнеупорной глины.
Натягивают термики с трудом
на влажные тела с гусиной кожей.
А я молюсь: "Наш милосердный Боже,
умой водой их, не крести огнём".

Вглядись в их лица без морщин и шрамов,
как будто кто-то изловчился в мрамор
луч коногонный к сердцу поместить.
О, этот чистый свет в солнцесплетенье...
Спасибо, Господи, за то, что на Крещение
позволил мне об этом говорить.
