На перекрестке дорожные камеры фиксировали соблюдение водителями скоростного режима.
В случае, если водитель двигался с разрешенной скоростью, он автоматически становился участником специальной лотереи.
А если водитель превышал скорость, его штрафовали, а средства от оплаченного им штрафа шли в призовой фонд лотереи.
В ходе этого эксперимента городские власти хотели выяснить, влияет ли на поведение водителей за рулем возможность получения поощрения.
Выяснилось, что влияет – по итогам эксперимента средняя скорость движения автомобилей на перекрестке, где была установлена камера, была снижена с 32 до 25 км/час.
