Официальное основание отказа – имя популярного персонажа зарегистрировано в качестве торговой марки.
По словам властей, для выдачи паспорта на это имя необходимо, чтобы киностудия, владеющая правами на Кхалиси, дала соответствующее разрешение.
Женщина была очень расстроена и придала случай огласке. И не прогадала – чиновники из Великобритании более тщательно разобрались в ситуации и решили все-таки выдать паспорт ребенку, поскольку выяснилось, что товарный знак распространяется только на товары и услуги, а не на имя человека.
