Священные для Ислама города Мекка, Джидда и Медина ушли под воду из-за сильного наводнения в Саудовской Аравии. Вода потоком хлынула вниз по каменистым склонам, которые обычно были сухими, и устремилась вниз, смывая на пути инфраструктуру городов и посёлков.

Машины местных жителей тоже смыло, а в международном аэропорту Джидды задерживают рейсы. В ряде регионов объявлен красный уровень опасности.
