36 лет назад, 15 февраля 1989 года, завершился вывод ограниченного контингента советских войск из Афганистана. По многолетней традиции в этот день в сквере у Дома офицеров собрались ветераны боевых действий, родственники павших воинов-интернационалистов, представители органов власти, общественники, военнослужащие, горожане.

Участники митинга почтили минутой молчания память воинов, отдавших жизни, защищая интересы Родины, и возложили к Скале Памяти Гирлянду Славы и цветы.
