Всё, как водится ранней осенью –
тени длинные, зыбкий свет,
золотишка на ветках россыпи,
солнце тёплое, воздух – нет.

Раньше было: потянет горечью
облетающих тополей –
и саднит внутри, и ворочаю
будто камни в душе своей.

А потом время с глузду съехало,
стрелки дрогнули, понесли...
Тех печалей смешное эхо
мне аукает из дали.

Жизнь листаешь, как будто книжицу,
в непреложном порядке дней,
а стоишь на ветру – и слышится
канонада с далёких полей.

И такое всё, знаешь, хрупкое,
улетучее, словно пар.
И теперь бережёшь, баюкаешь,
принимаешь как божий дар

и туманные ранние сумерки,
и грядущие ноябри,
и ушедшего дня окурки –
в лужах рыжие фонари...
