Many people reject the idea of being “coached.”
They’ve embraced the modern myth of “self made.”
I never wanted to be “self made.”
From the books I read, the heroes and archetypes I chose, and the people around me I looked up to and learned from- each was a critical element of my evolution.
There are plenty of worthwhile coaches and teachers out there-
The real shame is that there are so few excellent students.
Don’t stop learning- keep yourself grounded enough to appreciate and be grateful to anyone who is willing to take the time to teach you anything.
They’re honoring you with the gift of time- perhaps the only finite resource in the world.

St. Ambrose's response to Romans 7:16-25 gives hope to us Sin Addicts:
"We have a physician-let is follow His remedy! Our remedy is the grace of Christ, and the body of death is our body. Let us therefore be exiled from the body lest we be exiled from Christ. Even if we are in the body, let us not follow what is of the body. Let us not neglect the rights of nature, but let us prefer the gifts of grace."
-"On the Death of his brother Satyrus 2.41."

Christ heals us through the Holy Mysteries (Sacraments) and the Holy Scriptures. The writings of the Church Fathers are saturated with their testimonies of victory over the Passions! Daily discipline to prayer, spiritual reading and devout participation in the life of the Church are the means to experience victory through the power of the Holy Spirit!
