Санкт-Петербурга рассмотрел ходатайство следствия об избрании меры пресечения в виде заключения под стражу в отношении Андрея Жукова, обвиняемого в совершении преступления, предусмотренного ч.3 ст.30 - п.ж ч.2 ст.105 УК РФ (https://www.group-telegram.com/tr/SPbGS.com/14696).
21.05.2023 Жуков был задержан в порядке ст.91 УПК РФ. 22.05.2023 ему было предъявлено обвинение. Вину признал частично.
Обвиняемый и защитник не возражали.
Суд ходатайство следствия удовлетворил, избрав Жукову стражу по 20.07.2023.

Given the pro-privacy stance of the platform, it’s taken as a given that it’ll be used for a number of reasons, not all of them good. And Telegram has been attached to a fair few scandals related to terrorism, sexual exploitation and crime. Back in 2015, Vox described Telegram as “ISIS’ app of choice,” saying that the platform’s real use is the ability to use channels to distribute material to large groups at once. Telegram has acted to remove public channels affiliated with terrorism, but Pavel Durov reiterated that he had no business snooping on private conversations. Continuing its crackdown against entities allegedly involved in a front-running scam using messaging app Telegram, Sebi on Thursday carried out search and seizure operations at the premises of eight entities in multiple locations across the country. Telegram has become more interventionist over time, and has steadily increased its efforts to shut down these accounts. But this has also meant that the company has also engaged with lawmakers more generally, although it maintains that it doesn’t do so willingly. For instance, in September 2021, Telegram reportedly blocked a chat bot in support of (Putin critic) Alexei Navalny during Russia’s most recent parliamentary elections. Pavel Durov was quoted at the time saying that the company was obliged to follow a “legitimate” law of the land. He added that as Apple and Google both follow the law, to violate it would give both platforms a reason to boot the messenger from its stores. What distinguishes the app from competitors is its use of what's known as channels: Public or private feeds of photos and videos that can be set up by one person or an organization. The channels have become popular with on-the-ground journalists, aid workers and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who broadcasts on a Telegram channel. The channels can be followed by an unlimited number of people. Unlike Facebook, Twitter and other popular social networks, there is no advertising on Telegram and the flow of information is not driven by an algorithm. "This time we received the coordinates of enemy vehicles marked 'V' in Kyiv region," it added.
