В 1990-ом году он помогал открыть вторую в РСФСР (после Москвы) региональную спортивную газету «Арена». Много лет занимался развитием швейного производства, экипировал спортивными костюмами многие команды региона. А в последние годы вернулся в любимый спорт, тренировался и собирался участвовать в ветеранских турнирах.
