This has proven to be both a blessing and a curse for Telegram and its users, since these channels can be used for both good and ill. Apparently upbeat developments in Russia's discussions with Ukraine helped at least temporarily send investors back into risk assets. WhatsApp, a rival messaging platform, introduced some measures to counter disinformation when Covid-19 was first sweeping the world.
