Брэм Стокер при написании "Дракулы" находился под сильным влиянием новеллы "Кармилла" (1872) другого ирландца - Джозефа Шеридана Ле Фаню. Хотя роман Стокера затмил источник вдохновения, рассказ "Кармилла" был неоднократно экранизирован.

Примечательно, что главные актеры "Дракулы" 1958 года - Кристофер Ли (Дракула) и Питер Кушинг (Ван Хельсинг) снялись также в экранизациях "Кармиллы":
Проклятие Карнштейнов (La cripta e l'incubo), 1964 год, Италия, Испания. Кристофер Ли играет графа Людвига Карнштайна, чья дочь и становится объектом вожделения вампирши.
Любовницы вампирши (The Vampire Lovers), 1970, Великобритания. Он имел два продолжения. Кушинг играет генерала фон Шпильсдорфа, чья доча также подтвергается приставаниям вампирши.

Кстати, продолжение "Дракулы" 1931 года - "Дочь Дракулы" 1936 года также основано на "Кармилле", но Бела Лугоши в нем не снимался.

As the war in Ukraine rages, the messaging app Telegram has emerged as the go-to place for unfiltered live war updates for both Ukrainian refugees and increasingly isolated Russians alike. The War on Fakes channel has repeatedly attempted to push conspiracies that footage from Ukraine is somehow being falsified. One post on the channel from February 24 claimed without evidence that a widely viewed photo of a Ukrainian woman injured in an airstrike in the city of Chuhuiv was doctored and that the woman was seen in a different photo days later without injuries. The post, which has over 600,000 views, also baselessly claimed that the woman's blood was actually makeup or grape juice. Additionally, investors are often instructed to deposit monies into personal bank accounts of individuals who claim to represent a legitimate entity, and/or into an unrelated corporate account. To lend credence and to lure unsuspecting victims, perpetrators usually claim that their entity and/or the investment schemes are approved by financial authorities. Telegram boasts 500 million users, who share information individually and in groups in relative security. But Telegram's use as a one-way broadcast channel — which followers can join but not reply to — means content from inauthentic accounts can easily reach large, captive and eager audiences. Telegram has become more interventionist over time, and has steadily increased its efforts to shut down these accounts. But this has also meant that the company has also engaged with lawmakers more generally, although it maintains that it doesn’t do so willingly. For instance, in September 2021, Telegram reportedly blocked a chat bot in support of (Putin critic) Alexei Navalny during Russia’s most recent parliamentary elections. Pavel Durov was quoted at the time saying that the company was obliged to follow a “legitimate” law of the land. He added that as Apple and Google both follow the law, to violate it would give both platforms a reason to boot the messenger from its stores.
