I like to think that hundreds of years in the future a considerable amount of schizo conspiracy theorists will point at this and say that this is the evidence that their ancestors - in this context, us - used to know some sort of extraterrestrial form of life very well and even contact with it. People even do this now - e.g. nazca lines, pyramids and depictions of their gods within, fucking crop circles, poorly edited vids of UFOS OOOOOOOHHHH flying around... The only thing they overlook is that all of the aforementioned stuff, Egyptian gods included, is just a form of the most prominent form of media fit to man - shitpost😡

At its heart, Telegram is little more than a messaging app like WhatsApp or Signal. But it also offers open channels that enable a single user, or a group of users, to communicate with large numbers in a method similar to a Twitter account. This has proven to be both a blessing and a curse for Telegram and its users, since these channels can be used for both good and ill. Right now, as Wired reports, the app is a key way for Ukrainians to receive updates from the government during the invasion. In the past, it was noticed that through bulk SMSes, investors were induced to invest in or purchase the stocks of certain listed companies. There was another possible development: Reuters also reported that Ukraine said that Belarus could soon join the invasion of Ukraine. However, the AFP, citing a Pentagon official, said the U.S. hasn’t yet seen evidence that Belarusian troops are in Ukraine. It is unclear who runs the account, although Russia's official Ministry of Foreign Affairs Twitter account promoted the Telegram channel on Saturday and claimed it was operated by "a group of experts & journalists."
