Андраник Теванян заявил, что своим визитом намерен показать, что в Армении есть силы, стоящие за укрепление российско-армянских отношений. По его словам, визит носит гуманитарный характер и организован армянской общиной Донецка.
В ходе визита лидер «Мать Армения» сказал, что Запад хочет лишить Армению истории путем разрушения системы образования, а также использовать ее в своих целях, как было с Грузией.
