Защитная конструкция для вертолетов — это раскладывающаяся полусфера диаметром 16 м. Такое решение позволяет посадить вертолет в центр укрытия, после чего разложить над ним тросовую конструкцию. Она состоит из каркаса жесткости, изготовленного из стальной квадратной трубы и тросовой сетки. Сторона ячейки такой сети варьируется от 18 до 50 мм.
Закрывать и открывать конструкцию помогают специальные гидроцилиндры. Способ установки — фиксация центральных узлов в аэродромном покрытии. Масса укрытия — около 10 т.
