If you haven’t watched “Mon Oncle”, Jacques Tati’s first color movie that wittily parodies the spread of the International Style in France and Le Corbusier-inspired treatment of modern houses, it’s going to make your next movie night a success. If you have watched it, however, you may already know that some of the furnishings of Villa Arpel were designed by none other than Jacques Tati and his set designer, Jacques Lagrange. We’re referring to the Monsieur Arpel rocking chair, Madame Arpel sofa, and the Haricot couch which was so uncomfortable that Mr Hulot had to turn it on its side, thereby revealing its uncanny resemblance to Charlotte Perriand’s legendary lounger.

Interestingly, all of these pieces were re-issued, based solely on the movie stills, by the now-defunct Domeau and Pérès, a French studio founded by Bruno Domeau and Philippe Pérès, fans of Tati’s oeuvre, in 1996.

As such, the SC would like to remind investors to always exercise caution when evaluating investment opportunities, especially those promising unrealistically high returns with little or no risk. Investors should also never deposit money into someone’s personal bank account if instructed. As a result, the pandemic saw many newcomers to Telegram, including prominent anti-vaccine activists who used the app's hands-off approach to share false information on shots, a study from the Institute for Strategic Dialogue shows. At its heart, Telegram is little more than a messaging app like WhatsApp or Signal. But it also offers open channels that enable a single user, or a group of users, to communicate with large numbers in a method similar to a Twitter account. This has proven to be both a blessing and a curse for Telegram and its users, since these channels can be used for both good and ill. Right now, as Wired reports, the app is a key way for Ukrainians to receive updates from the government during the invasion. To that end, when files are actively downloading, a new icon now appears in the Search bar that users can tap to view and manage downloads, pause and resume all downloads or just individual items, and select one to increase its priority or view it in a chat. On February 27th, Durov posted that Channels were becoming a source of unverified information and that the company lacks the ability to check on their veracity. He urged users to be mistrustful of the things shared on Channels, and initially threatened to block the feature in the countries involved for the length of the war, saying that he didn’t want Telegram to be used to aggravate conflict or incite ethnic hatred. He did, however, walk back this plan when it became clear that they had also become a vital communications tool for Ukrainian officials and citizens to help coordinate their resistance and evacuations.
