В Москве правоохранительные органы пресекли деятельность группы мошенников, обманывавших пенсионеров. Задержаны трое молодых людей, включая 19-летнего жителя Новосибирска.
История началась с звонка 78-летней москвичке. Неизвестный, представившись силовиком, убедил женщину, что её сбережения требуют перевода на «защищённый счёт». Доверчивая пенсионерка передала курьеру около миллиона рублей в районе Пресненской набережной. Но преступники не остановились: они потребовали ещё один миллион.
Осознав обман, пенсионерка обратилась в полицию. Под контролем оперативников она передала курьеру муляж денег, что позволило задержать 19-летнего курьера из Новосибирска на месте.
Расследование выявило других жертв: две женщины 60 и 76 лет, а также 77-летний мужчина лишились в общей сложности почти 20 миллионов рублей.

Stocks dropped on Friday afternoon, as gains made earlier in the day on hopes for diplomatic progress between Russia and Ukraine turned to losses. Technology stocks were hit particularly hard by higher bond yields. But this has also meant that the company has also engaged with lawmakers more generally, although it maintains that it doesn’t do so willingly. For instance, in September 2021, Telegram reportedly blocked a chat bot in support of (Putin critic) Alexei Navalny during Russia’s most recent parliamentary elections. Pavel Durov was quoted at the time saying that the company was obliged to follow a “legitimate” law of the land. He added that as Apple and Google both follow the law, to violate it would give both platforms a reason to boot the messenger from its stores. Since January 2022, the SC has received a total of 47 complaints and enquiries on illegal investment schemes promoted through Telegram. These fraudulent schemes offer non-existent investment opportunities, promising very attractive and risk-free returns within a short span of time. They commonly offer unrealistic returns of as high as 1,000% within 24 hours or even within a few hours. The Security Service of Ukraine said in a tweet that it was able to effectively target Russian convoys near Kyiv because of messages sent to an official Telegram bot account called "STOP Russian War."
