В свою очередь в 2021 году трамваестроитель также фиксировал значительный рост производства, на 62%. Таким образом, за два года объем выпуска трамваев на УКВЗ может вырасти почти в 2,3 раза.
На заводе указывают, что продолжают реализовывать проекты по строительству нового цеха, а также обкаточного кольца. Как в июне говорил гендиректор УКВЗ Роман Новиков, новые мощности должны позволить заводу собирать три модели трамваев одновременно, в том числе трехсекционные. Ввод цеха в эксплуатацию предполагает увеличение мощностей УКВЗ до 250 трамвайных вагонов в год и создание дополнительных 329 рабочих мест.
