Немецкая Vossloh Rolling Stock подписала письмо о намерениях с оператором порта Дуйсбурга, предусматривающее поставку 2 гибридных локомотивов платформы Modula с тягой от водородных топливных элементов и аккумуляторных батарей. Предполагается, что перспективный подвижной состав начнет работать в новом контейнерном терминале порта с 2025 года.
Vossloh Rolling Stock была приобретена китайской CRRC в 2020 году. Через два года на выставке Innotrans она представила линейку гибридных локомотивов Modula с тремя различными комбинациями тяги.
Стоит отметить, что сама материнская CRRC показала свой первый водородно-аккумуляторный маневровый локомотив, выпущенный в Китае, в начале 2021 года. Также компания должна разработать и поставить водородный маневровый локомотив чилийской узкоколейной железной дороге FCAB.
