Чтобы идентифицировать личность Евгения Серебрякова, сотрудники Интерпола обратились в Массачусетский технологический институт (MIT) — вероятно, чтобы воспользоваться программой распознавания лиц.
Известно, что подозреваемый прибыл в аэропорт Бодрума в 09:40. Он не был опознан, так как на тот момент ещё не числился в базе данных Интерпола.
Позднее по ориентировке от российских спецслужб его нашли по камерам наблюдения.
