Rheinmetall und Leonardo gründen neues Panzer-Schwergewicht
Der italienische und der deutsche Rüstungskonzerne Leonardo und Rheinmetall gründen ein Joint Venture, das einen neuen europäischen Nukleus für die Entwicklung und Produktion militärischer Gefechtsfahrzeuge in Europa bilden soll. Ein entsprechendes Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) hatten die Unternehmen bereits Anfang Juli 2024 in Rom unterzeichnet.
Wie aus einer Pressemitteilung von Rheinmetall hervorgeht, soll der Hauptsitz von Leonardo Rheinmetall Military Vehicles (LRMV) in Rom sein. An dem Projekt sollen beide Partner jeweils 50% der Anteile halten. Als erster Großauftrag ist eine Bestellung der italienischen Armee mit einem Gesamtwert von mehr als 20 Milliarden Euro in Sicht.

The War on Fakes channel has repeatedly attempted to push conspiracies that footage from Ukraine is somehow being falsified. One post on the channel from February 24 claimed without evidence that a widely viewed photo of a Ukrainian woman injured in an airstrike in the city of Chuhuiv was doctored and that the woman was seen in a different photo days later without injuries. The post, which has over 600,000 views, also baselessly claimed that the woman's blood was actually makeup or grape juice. Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko that there were "certain positive developments" occurring in the talks with Ukraine, according to a transcript of their meeting. Putin added that discussions were happening "almost on a daily basis."
