«Я убежден, что рано или поздно этот проект состоится. Сейчас идет ренессанс железнодорожных перевозок. Азия, Китай активно используют железные дороги для быстрого и предсказуемого трансфера грузов из Китая в Европу, поэтому рано или поздно мы не только Сахалин свяжем с материком, но и Япония также станет частью Евразии», — сообщил Чекунков.
Вопрос о строительстве моста поднимался в повестке региона и Федерации неоднократно. Ранее власти Сахалинской области называли даже приблизительный бюджет проекта — около 600 млрд рублей.
