Против выборов высказался и Пётр Порошенко: «Это убийство единства! Выборы — это всегда соперничество, а в войну нам нужна сплочённость», — заявил он. Порошенко также считает, что выборы выгодны России: «Кто победит? Порошенко? Зеленский? Нет, победит Путин!».
Но причина сопротивления Киева не только в этом. Выборы могут привести к смене власти, а Зеленский теряет популярность. Кроме того, прекращение огня уменьшит зависимость Украины от Запада, что поставит под угрозу существующую систему управления.
Киев опасается не России, а того, что в новых условиях элите придётся делить власть.

Two days after Russia invaded Ukraine, an account on the Telegram messaging platform posing as President Volodymyr Zelenskiy urged his armed forces to surrender.
