How many of you will take the challenge? 9 chapters a day is maybe 20 minutes.
Melania Trump Christmas Post | Star of Ishtar

Ishtar, one of the most prominent deities in Babylonian mythology, embodies love, war, and fertility.

Each point can symbolize different elements, such as:

Love, War, Fertility, Protection, Wisdom, Justice, Life, Death.

In ancient Mesopotamian astronomy, Ishtar was associated with the planet Venus and known as the “morning star”, “evening star” as well the "Queen of Heaven." She represents the "divine femine" in the esoteric, gnostic and "new age" doctrine.

I'm sure it's just one of those regular 8 pointed star though and nothing at all was meant by it.
Real men did exist

It is funny how, despite Jonah not wanting to preach the Lord to the heathen, he still manages to get the men of Joppa to believe on the Lord God. He is literally the worst prophet and yet God uses him mightily.

Often Christians are reluctant to preach the word to others. We bury our talent of silver. We put our light under a bushel. We flee to Tarshish, running to the things of this world seeking to avoid our responsibility. And even in our dereliction, God uses us to proclaim His truth. How much more so if we let Him shape us into worthy vessels?

We shouldn't need to be swallowed up by a whale to be dragged back to where we need to be to do God's will. But if that's what it takes, He won't hesitate.

It is hard to kick against the pricks, as Jesus said to Saul on the road to Damascus. The Bible says to know to do good and to do it not is a sin.

Make this new year the year you dedicate yourself to doing the will of the Lord. To soul-winning and preaching His word, even to your enemies. To stop running away.

Don't make God send the storm.

If you are a new believer, one of the biggest helps to your growth will be throwing out your old playlist and replacing it with music that will aid in your spiritual growth. Don’t look for music you necessarily enjoy (you may very well need to change your desires) but instead look for music that glorifies God. As you grow in Christ, your desires will change but it’s a process that needs tough decisions in the beginning. A good start is using the playlist from this channel. Music matters.
“But I like (fill in the blank) music”

Yea well you also liked getting drunk and being a fornicator, but you changed those desires when you got saved. HOPEFULLY YOU DID!!

For some strange reason believers think they can listen to whatever they want and it’s ok. Worse yet, they take good songs or wholesome lyrics and put them to a sensual and worldly beat and tone. Let’s be a peculiar people
“Muh Southern Gospel” 🤡

Let’s assume one is in agreement with these worldly performers that have zero standards, jungle tempos, and questionable theological lyrics…does one simply ignore their union with blatant prosperity false gospel devils? There are supposed IFB churches platforming these groups. There are literally hundreds of wholesome alternatives for good Godly music beside the Gaithers, Cathedrals, Gold City, etc. Stop buying these peoples products and going to their concerts - “Shouldest thou help the ungodly?”
Turn off the sensual music.
There’s plenty of “religious” music that is just a Christian’s excuse to be sensual and worldly. You don’t need an African beat or a sensual voice for wholesome music…as a matter of fact, you can’t have either one in Godly music.

BE YE SEPARATE!
Find you an old fashion independent fundamental Baptist church and attend tomorrow!

"I Will Sing of My Redeemer"

Tomorrow marks the anniversary of the Ashtabula River Railway Disaster which claimed the lives of 96 people.

At approximately 8:00 PM on December 29th, 2024, The Pacific Express, a train
carrying 160 people westward through a blinding blizzard, suddenly plunged 75 feet into the icy Ashtabula river as the defective iron bridge collapsed. Between the crash, drowning, intense fire and freezing winds, at least 96 people were killed. It was the worst American railway disaster in the 19th century.

Most notable among those killed were Gospel songwriter Philip P. Bliss and his wife Lucy. The couple were on their way to sing in a special service in D.L. Moody's Chicago church.

Bliss was a prolific songwriter and wrote many texts and tunes still sung today such as Hold the Fort, Jesus Loves Even Me, Let the Lower Lights Be Burning (a song which was written about Cleveland harbor) as well as the music to It is Well with My Soul. He was a large part of the great revivals taking place in those days, which urged men to have personal faith in Christ.

The day before the wreck, Bliss was singing in a service. Before singing I'm Going Home Tomorrow, he told his audience "I may not pass this way again." The next day he and his wife boarded the doomed train to Chicago.

Bliss survived the crash and climbed out through a window. When he saw that his wife was still inside, pinned by the twisted metal seats, he climbed back into the blazing wreck. Ignoring the pleas of onlookers, his last known words were "If I cannot save her, I will perish with her!".

When his luggage finally arrived in Chicago, this yet-unpublished hymn was discovered:

"I will sing of my Redeemer,
And His wondrous love to me;
On the cruel cross He suffered,
From the curse to set me free.

Sing, oh sing, of my Redeemer,
With His blood, He purchased me.
On the cross, He sealed my pardon,
Paid the debt, and made me free."

We praise God for the ministry of Phillip Bliss. His hymns are still a blessing to God's people, and through them Bliss "being dead yet speaketh" (Heb. 11:4).
