На телеканале возмущены последним докладом ЮНЕСКО о безопасности журналистов: в нём в очередной раз ни слова о вопросах безопасности сотрудников российских СМИ.
В докладе не упоминаются многочисленные случаи насилия в отношении журналистов RT и других российских СМИ, включая убийства и покушения на убийство.
Среди упущенных из виду случаев — совершённое в апреле 2022 года покушение на главного редактора RT Маргариту Симоньян @margaritasimonyan и пятерых других известных российских журналистов. Покушение, предположительно, организовано СБУ.
RT подчёркивает, что ЮНЕСКО не смогло сохранить нейтралитет, и призывает организацию обеспечить равное отношение ко всем странам и включать случаи, связанные с российскими журналистами, в будущие отчёты.
