لما تتأمل في فتوحات الأمويين في القوقاز وجنوب روسيا والأناضول وشمال أفريقيا ولغاية حدود الصين والهند والسند والنوبة وجنوب فرنسا وحتى سويسرا ومناطق إيطاليا كما أثبت شكيب أرسلان في كتابه "تاريخ غزوات العرب في فرنسا وسويسرا وإيطاليا وجزر البحر المتوسط" تتعجب مِن همّة هؤلاء القوم، وهم الذين لم تزد دولتهم عن 92 سنة!
