А я вот соглашусь. Если бы речь шла о научных исследованиях, тогда, несомненно, внешность учёного никак не соотносится с предметом его исследований и экспертных знаний.
Но "голодомор" - пропагандистская концепция. И поэтому все элементы её продвижения должны соответствовать внешнему и эмоциональному эффекту.
