Во дворце Бея в Константине сохранилась французская винтовая лестница, построенная специально для Наполеона III, который бывал здесь (фото 1).

На стенах дворца изображены частично сохранившиеся картины путешествия из Алжира в хадж в Мекку. В том числе, изображена Кааба (фото 2) и Саудовская Аравия (фото 3).

На четвертом фото можно увидеть небольшое окно в стене дворца, за которым виднеется старая мозаика. Во французский период были возведены новые стены, которые перекрыли старую мозаику дворцовых стен. Новые хозяева украсили дворец узорами в цвет своего флага и изображением цветка по мотивам французской культуры. В то же время, как говорит Месьё Фарид, алжирцы после ухода французов не стали разрушать часть истории, сохранив французские стены, сделав лишь окно в них.

Given the pro-privacy stance of the platform, it’s taken as a given that it’ll be used for a number of reasons, not all of them good. Back in 2015, Vox described Telegram as “ISIS’ app of choice,” saying that the platform’s real use is the ability to use channels to distribute material to large groups at once. Telegram has acted to remove public channels affiliated with terrorism, but Pavel Durov reiterated that he had no business snooping on private conversations. A Russian Telegram channel with over 700,000 followers is spreading disinformation about Russia's invasion of Ukraine under the guise of providing "objective information" and fact-checking fake news. Its influence extends beyond the platform, with major Russian publications, government officials, and journalists citing the page's posts. The message was not authentic, with the real Zelenskiy soon denying the claim on his official Telegram channel, but the incident highlighted a major problem: disinformation quickly spreads unchecked on the encrypted app. In addition, Telegram's architecture limits the ability to slow the spread of false information: the lack of a central public feed, and the fact that comments are easily disabled in channels, reduce the space for public pushback. At this point, however, Durov had already been working on Telegram with his brother, and further planned a mobile-first social network with an explicit focus on anti-censorship. Later in April, he told TechCrunch that he had left Russia and had “no plans to go back,” saying that the nation was currently “incompatible with internet business at the moment.” He added later that he was looking for a country that matched his libertarian ideals to base his next startup.
