Аэродром, в который НАТО вложит 52 млн, построен в 1938 году. После Второй мировой войны на базу албанских ВВС свои самолеты поставляли Китай и СССР. В 1975 году перестали, но еще пару десятков лет албанцы продолжали ими пользоваться. А потом Кучова просто превратилась в кладбище военной техники.
А в 2019 году там уже торжественно открывали авиабазу НАТО – первую на Западных Балканах. И в ближайшие годы у нее есть все шансы стать основным логистическим пунктом альянса.
