Соответствующие документы 3 февраля подписал врио главы городского округа Олег Моргун.
«Новые флаг и герб разработаны профильными специалистами на основании ранее существовавших гербов города Мариуполь», — пояснил он.
Моргун отметил, что цветовая гамма герба отражает расположение города на берегу Азовского моря и исторические особенности его основания. Белый цвет символизирует металлургию, которая является одной из ключевых отраслей экономики Мариуполя.
