Ранее премьер Никол Пашинян заявлял, что Ереван решил ратифицировать Римский статут, так как инструменты ОДКБ и армяно-российского партнерства недостаточны для обеспечения безопасности страны.
В Москве намерение Еревана называли недружественным. 8 сентября посол Армении был вызван в МИД.
