This gas lies in Palestinian waters and as an occupying power, Israel is violating international law by giving the rights to these gas field to BP, Chevron and Eni. These are the same companies that have devastated the people, environment and economies of many countries in the global south, who have suffered irreversibly consequences of their operations. This settler-colonial regime will be forcing the impacts of the imperial and neo-colonial fossil fuel industry on the Palestinian people.
GSU has begun a campaign against this industry, using several strategies and tactics such as research, knowledge sharing and targeting of industry players. These include companies and governments of Egypt, Jordan, the European Union and others involved in this destructive, militarised and illegal gas extraction. We invite GSU to talk about the dire need for a critical campaign such as this one, share information on the industry and discuss potential for support.
