But on Friday, Reuters reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin said there had been some âpositive shiftsâ in talks between the two sides. Markets continued to grapple with the economic and corporate earnings implications relating to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. âWe have a ton of uncertainty right now,â said Stephanie Link, chief investment strategist and portfolio manager at Hightower Advisors. âWeâre dealing with a war, weâre dealing with inflation. We donât know what it means to earnings.â As the war in Ukraine rages, the messaging app Telegram has emerged as the go-to place for unfiltered live war updates for both Ukrainian refugees and increasingly isolated Russians alike. Telegram may be asked by a government to hand over the communications from a channel. On Telegramâs website, it says that Pavel Durov âsupports Telegram financially and ideologically while Nikolai (Duvov)âs input is technological.â Currently, the Telegram team is based in Dubai, having moved around from Berlin, London and Singapore after departing Russia. Meanwhile, the company which owns Telegram is registered in the British Virgin Islands.
