Сейчас будет фотоотчет о прошлой неделе, которую я провела в Переделкине (да, опять, и что вы мне сделаете?). Чем занимались с моими замечательными котиками-резидентами:
- обсуждали перевод манги, манхвы и маньхуа (каждый день!),
- созванивались с редакторами комиксов (Женей и Ваней) и перенимали у них мудрость вековую,
- ходили на экскурсии (даже орнитологическую! На ней-то и поглазели на синичкиных птенчиков),
- играли в бильярд, пинг-понг и бадминтон,
- съездили на переводческое «Что? Где? Когда?» (неожиданное второе место),
- гуляли по вечерней Москве, видели лошадь, стоящую в очереди у бара (надеюсь, ей таки налили настоечки),
- съездили на переводческий форум АПП, я немножко выступила,
- сходили на паблик-ток про перевод викторианской литературы,
- много смеялись и дружили.

The regulator said it had received information that messages containing stock tips and other investment advice with respect to selected listed companies are being widely circulated through websites and social media platforms such as Telegram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram. Telegram has become more interventionist over time, and has steadily increased its efforts to shut down these accounts. But this has also meant that the company has also engaged with lawmakers more generally, although it maintains that it doesn’t do so willingly. For instance, in September 2021, Telegram reportedly blocked a chat bot in support of (Putin critic) Alexei Navalny during Russia’s most recent parliamentary elections. Pavel Durov was quoted at the time saying that the company was obliged to follow a “legitimate” law of the land. He added that as Apple and Google both follow the law, to violate it would give both platforms a reason to boot the messenger from its stores. As the war in Ukraine rages, the messaging app Telegram has emerged as the go-to place for unfiltered live war updates for both Ukrainian refugees and increasingly isolated Russians alike. The news also helped traders look past another report showing decades-high inflation and shake off some of the volatility from recent sessions. The Bureau of Labor Statistics' February Consumer Price Index (CPI) this week showed another surge in prices even before Russia escalated its attacks in Ukraine. The headline CPI — soaring 7.9% over last year — underscored the sticky inflationary pressures reverberating across the U.S. economy, with everything from groceries to rents and airline fares getting more expensive for everyday consumers. At its heart, Telegram is little more than a messaging app like WhatsApp or Signal. But it also offers open channels that enable a single user, or a group of users, to communicate with large numbers in a method similar to a Twitter account. This has proven to be both a blessing and a curse for Telegram and its users, since these channels can be used for both good and ill. Right now, as Wired reports, the app is a key way for Ukrainians to receive updates from the government during the invasion.
