Ты знаешь, прошлой осенью ко мне залетела сова.
Я кормила её из рук.
Я гуляла с ней по ночам.
Мы считали звезды, искали её подруг.

Я поила её самой чистой водой,
Каждый день её пёрышки мыла.
Я любила её, лечила недуг.
Но она твердила, твердила,

Что ей плохо мной, что хочет на юг.
Я кричала: «Ты ж не южная птица...»
«Нет, — твердила она, — отпусти,
Я хочу без тебя помолиться.»

Так... не выздоровев, не почистив пера,
Ночью птица моя улетела.
На прощанье сказала: «Увидишь меня
Этим летом... Я так захотела.»

И ты знаешь, пришла вдруг зима.
Как обычно, без спроса... надолго.
И сова моя оказалась одна
Посреди снежной бури, где мокро.

И ударил мороз, и нет сил у совы,
Нет ни крова, ни мышек, ни норки.
И замёрзла она, не дождавшись весны.
Оставив в сердце моём… одни лишь осколки...
