Мэры трех городов на юго-востоке Турции (Мардин, Батман, Халфети) от левацко-курдской партии DEM отстранены от занимаемых должностей по решению МВД за ранее вынесенные им приговоры о членстве в террористической организации PKK.
Обязанности мэров городов Мардин и Батман будут исполнять губернаторы одноименных провинций, а Халфети - префект района.
