Участвовала в Сталинградской битве, освобождении Симферополя, Белоруссии и Польши, дошла до Берлина.

Военный корреспондент Евгений Халдей сделал в Германии знаменитое фото, на котором у Бранденбургских ворот юная девушка направляет проезжающие машины.
