📝В 1901 году УКВЗ изготовил свой первый трамвай. Это был вагон открытого типа, собранный для города Тифлиса (нынешнего Тбилиси). Тогда тифлисский транспорт совершал переход от конки (вагоны, которые двигались благодаря лошадям) к электрическим трамваям.
Первыми там появились вагоны из Бельгии. Узнав об этом, управляющие Усть-Катавским заводом увидели хорошие перспективы для местного производства.
Вскоре на предприятии был собран первый экспериментальный образец открытого трамвая.
