Болгарские власти начали демонтаж монумента в центре Софии в честь советских воинов-освободителей. Поскольку долго не могли придумать причину, решили сказать, что состояние скульптур из бронзы крайне плохое.

Очень хорошо на эту тему написал военкор Александр Коц: «И когда в будущем в очередной раз (который уже по счету?) болгары завопят о помощи, взывая к ненавистному старшему брату, им нужно будет напомнить про тот снесенный в центре Софии памятник».
