Игорь Мурог назначен членом Совета Федерации от Рязанской областной Думы. Решение принято на внеочередном заседании Думы 2 апреля.
«Это не мое личное индивидуальное решение», – сказал Мурог, отвечая на вопрос депутата от КПРФ Виктора Малюгина, почему покидает должность и.о.ректора РГУ и уходит в Совет Федерации, отметив, что это решение руководства области и партии.
За назначение Мурога проголосовали 34 депутата. Против публично выступил Виктор Малюгин. Он назвал его кандидатуру «недостойной». Публично кандидатуру Мурога поддержали депутат от ЕР Владимир Рожков и депутат от Партии пенсионеров Наталья Рубина, они назвала его кандидатуру «достойной» и «очень достойной».
